Happy New Year Everyone
What a fab night we had last night. We flew in from Melbourne late afternoon so it was a bit of a rush to get to the Barmy Army party down at the Paragon Hotel in Circular Quay. The main issue was the were were in Potts Point and the area between us and the party was where all the revellers were going to watch the fireworks on the bridge. As we knew from last time that people started 'camping' out from after lunch and true to last time large swaths of the gardens were already closed off at 8.30 as we walked through - I find it mildly amusing that people sit out for nearly 10 hours just to watch 10 minutes of fireworks, but hey ho whatever floats your boat!
The bar was rocking when we arrived and all the usual suspects were there plus Andy & Charlotte who had already been in Sydney for a few days. We disappeared out about 10.45 to try and find a spot near to the bridge and the streets were full of revellers some already full of spirit! The fireworks were spectacular albeit no matter where you stand in the town you will never see it as well as you can on TV! That was Deans view when he decided to stay at the bar anyway!!
Not much more to say really except to say we hope you had a great a night as us and roll on the 3rd when hopefully we can win the series.................... yeah!Hugs
Sara
